A line in a painting which contains many lines means little because the change is so small. A line in a minimal painting which contains very few if any lines means much because the change is so big relatively speaking.

A drip in a paintings can be very effective if planned correctly, but too often drips are used because the artist didn't know how to solve a problem otherwise.
